Looks good in the living room, with a low profile tray and automatic glass tray. Although the engine is part of the entry level concept, but it supports the HP ePrinting standard.
HP Envy 4500 Printer Review – Design and Features
This printer has a flatbed scanner with a 1.200ppi resolution. In terms of navigation, there is a control panel on the front surface, has a 50mm LCD screen.
Using a mono LCD type can cause you to increase power. Even though it can’t see color images, this printer is also not equipped with a card or USB slot, so there is a slight drawback to that. It should be noted, the monochrome display is also not touch sensitive.
For the printing section, black and three-color ink cartridges are needed, which means you have to replace the color cartridge as soon as you dry one of the colors, instead of changing colors separately based on usage.
Paper handling may be a bit too basic, this is because HP cuts prices. The input tray is stuck on the base, and when loaded with A4 paper, the front panel cannot be closed causing you to think twice.
Even though mono printing costs are very high, you are still lucky with a low color cost per page. However, if you run out of one of the colors of the ink, it might come with a hidden fee to replace it.
For some people, the interface design might be a little doubtful for both the scanner element and the printer because it is too simple for the MFP intended primarily for family users. The TWAIN scanner interface only offers a resolution that does not include 150dpi, which is also too simplified.
Even so, there are still many other things that are liked by the Envy 4500 Printer especially in terms of print quality. On plain paper it can produce pretty good black text, as well as color graphics.
The color quality is noticeable, but given the pigment-based black is not used, this is not an extraordinary photo printer. One complaint that may not be too detrimental is that on the handle wheel the paper transport mechanism leaves a small trace when printing white paper.
In prints and copies, with standard quality text appears at 8.7 ppm, and is good enough to be used for everyday printing. However, Envy’s color printing speed is only 1.8ppm even though the print quality is very good.
